On this World Autism Day, we are deeply inspired by the story of Nehal Tiwari, a young Indian woman navigating her life on the autism spectrum. As Nehal’s mother, Seema Tiwari, shares in this conversation with us, their family did go through an initial phase of struggle to come to terms with Nehal’s condition.
The turning point was a shift in perspective. As Seema mentions, “If I am unable to accept my child, how can I expect the world to accept her?” This realization transformed their approach from one of uncertainty to proactive, positive action.
It wasn’t always easy, but as Seema noted, they committed to the path trusting that their dedication would lead them on the path of gradual progress.
Today, Nehal leads a vibrant life as a working professional and also runs her independent creative label, Speaking Stones. She travels independently and manages her career with support, proving that when we provide space, patience, and opportunity, we unlock incredible talent.
This World Autism Day let’s embrace true acceptance, ensuring that everyone has the space to thrive.
